Better off with Nikon ?

Sadly this is not exactly true, Nikon have a nice simple worldwide warranty policy, so you can buy Nikon equipment anywhere and their warranty is valid in any country.

Canon still like to screw different folks in different countries, so if you buy US hardware it has to be submitted to a recognised US dealer to be repaired under warranty, in this day and age that's such a con.

Thanks for your feedback, very helpful and informative.

Whats your opinion on Sigma pro lenses and do they match those of Canon ?
Glad to see that you realise photography is a rip off. The prices for gear is unbelievable. The price for some lens is equal to the price for a good second hand car. I will let you into a secret, I have a bet with a mate that my money will last longer than I will. The way things are going it looks like I will lose.
