I like the contrast between the trees & sky. not sure about the amount of sky though, it might look better if there was more of a gradient throughout the sky & a touch more grass.

re you able to try a crop with a touch of room at the sides so the trees don't touch the edges?

Thanks Cathus - that was pretty much what I was thinking. I think the concept is good - just needs some work - or a revisit as I only took 5 frames and managed to crop the right hand edge slightly each time I've redone the post processing and burnt the sky in a little to give more cloud detail and a pseudo gradient which gives a moodier/stormier feel (by adding a new layer and filling with 50% grey then black brush to burn, white to dodge).

I'm blaming the veeerrrrry naff weather

Nice idea and the conversion is great :-) A little too much sky space for me as well but if you can burn in the clouds more and make it more dramatic it will really work. Or just do what Cathus suggested and add more grass instead. Btw I agree about the weather and rubbish light, its been dark here all day and freezing!

I agree with the poor light caused by the bad weather being a detractor in this image.

The tree's sort of look like an arrow pointing up, but only to the grey, murky sky
I think a stormy sky, or one with the sun just disappearing behind a cloud would set it off perfectly.

Good location, well seen, shame about the weather.
