Chat Thread- Low Light Portraits- 5th-7th Nov

Yes everyone, its bonfire night and there will be lots of fireworks going off this weekend.
so i want you to go to the bonfires and see if you can get a model for this weeks theme which is, lowlight Portrait, and yes back to photography so no photoshoppery except for the basics (sorry) see the rules for whats descrbed as basics.
Use all kind of light to create that low light feel, and if possible try to get you model to express some kind of emotion in their face. We can try to guess what it is

Im really looking forward to your entries and hope you learn a few new skills trying to produce your look.

Ps hate fireworks

But not over here there won't and I doubt anywhere else other than in the UK. See here - post in the previous chat thread: http://www.photoradar.com/forums/sho...2&postcount=35

Alright, forget that - upon reading it again (thoroughly this time lol) I see the theme is Lowlight Portrait.

Maybe the thread title should be changed to reflect the theme? Interesting choice - will see what I can do and hopefully move beyond my usual gang of willing models!

Yes I must admit that I too was about to point out that here in Northern Ireland Bonfire night is the 11th July!!

Lowlight Portrait then? This will be a real challenge for me in my photographic infancy. Looking forward to it! Should be right up Bodsao's street though??

Hi,

Reading the rules post, I might have missed it but I couldnt see the bit about only using the basic photoshop techniques, it seemed to say that any post processing was ok - am I being a numpty and missing something??

Thanks for clarifying!

I'm afraid I'll have to pass Mark.

We have a convention in this house that we don't post pictures on the web in which we are recognisable. I've just searched my name on google and facebook (many friends are addicted to it, apparently), and although there are a few references to my un-noteworthy time as a musician I couldn't find any pictures. That said I know there are a few very old (and deathly sad) ones out there somewhere on a record company site

Anyway, although I shall not be taking part, I am very much looking forward to seeing what the rest of you come up with.
