Getting threatened by the Police - again, this time a threat to confiscate the camera, having said that they were an armed response team, and I didn't fancy taking shots where bullets might be flying. Apparantly according to him they have some kind of guarantee of anonimity which sets them apart from the ordinary plods. When they drove off one was wearing a black helmet (straight from starwars)! the other a bally.

Still dunno what was going on, anyone know if there really are different rules relating to armed officers?

I think he was pushing his luck. The police, regardless of the branch they are in, have to obey the same laws. He couldn't take your camera unless it contained images in relation to the incident that could be used in evidence. I've taken images of CO9 police without problems including their guns. I think it depends on the local police whether they are anti-photographers or not. You could always write to the Chief Constable in your area to find where they drawn the line or even take it up with your local paper, who may be as interested as you to find out the rules that govern these situations.

What annoyed me?
Driving a hire lorry and being pulled over by VOSA for a roadside check - only to be presented with a prohibition notice for the vehicle. Just trying to decide what to say to the hire company...
