PhotoRadar Albums - Do People View other members work?

I am curious I take time to view other artists work and comment (I belong to a few photo sites), I seem to hear more an more that lots of people just upload and wait for others to say something.
Even when just rating on some sites is a click and nothing more complicated then that.

What are your findings?

I view / comment on work of my contacts on flickr but not on here. The album system is just too slow and cumbersome. I only ever post weekend comp entries into my own here and neither expect nor give commenst because of the system inadequacies.

I've had a few comments and ratings which are always nice to read and think people have taken the trouble to look.

I have to admit, I haven't rated or commented on individual images in the albums (as mentioned by jinky, it's a bit slow...). I have however given feedback directly to other members where approriate - should really comment on albums, just don't have the patience

as far as other members photos are concerned, ive seen some trmendous photos while looking around. i havent comemnted on anyones albums yet just a few ive seen posted. when i actually get the time to sit and have a good nose i will comment. my comments wont be on the quality of the photography as im not in a position to judge that as although ive been using a camera for donkies years my skill levels are very low.

i dont have any of my photos on here, three reasons... firstly ive only recently bought a an slr and havent yet been able to get out and use it, secondly my previous bridge camera although very good for what it was. in no way produced photos of the quality i would want to share on here and lastly my own skills are far from upto the standard here... with the quality ive seen on this site id rather not share substandard photos and get embarrased over them.

I'm a new member here and have not received any comments on any of the images that I have uploaded even though I did rate a few others when I first joined. I have noticed when browsing the galleries that there is very little in the way of rating that goes on around here.

I'm a member of a few other sites including Flickr and seem to notice that it is only my friends or the same few people who bother to rate on those sites too. If ever I receive ratings from someone on those sites, I will always look to return the compliment but that does not seem to happen here.

Shame people really do enjoy building a community, I am on Flickr as stated in my profile, maybe we should create a Flickr photo group as we know that people responding to this thread care enough to comment then comment on each others

I am impressed with the number of responses so far.

Thank you all.
Maybe if there is enough positive feed back about how to improve the feedback PhotoRadar might consider some of the ideas.
So it is a dynamic place & not static.

I have only had three comments on my uploads on this site.If you are looking for comments or critique,it appears that you have to upload your shot and ask for members opinions. This is not a bad thing as such, but it may be the shear volume of uploads that discourage members from commenting.
I usually upload to another site(not flickr) and you can get comments and votes or awards per photo.

It has been discussed many times. Many people do not go into the galleries because they are so poorly designed. they are rather cumbersome and not user friendly to just browse.

I've just noted that if you only leave a comment, as I am apt to do as I don't like the rating systems, a zero still appears on the profile page against the image with nothing to show that comments have been left. So how is the member to know that comments have been left?

There are so many different gallery engines on the various magazine websites that it can be really easy to lose track of what is on where. Maybe incorporating the Flickr API to auto-import images and comments, essentially using a central mechanism for managing your images and merely displaying them in the photoradar shell, may simplify the process a bit? This would obviously be more beneficial if other magazine galleries then adopted the same philosophy (as I'm sure a few already do).
