Crumpler Muffin Top Bags

hi guys, im wondering does anyone here have a crumpler muffin top bag? im on the lookout for a shoulder bag (dont like rucksacks) to hold a camera, couple of lenses, spare batterys, filters etc. ive looked at loads and really like the look of the muffin tops, either the 5500 or 7500 but thought id ask here first incase anyones got any ideas if their good or bad... or may have an opinion on another suitable shoulder bag

I have this Lowepro:-

It is an excellent bag and whilst a little heavy when fully loaded, it holds a massive amount of kit and it has a fold out all weather cover too.

If you do buy a Crumpler bag my advice is to try one out in a shop before buying as Crumpler greatly exaggerate the capacity of their bags, and stockists more often than not just reproduce Crumpler's descriptions. I have the Muffin Top 4000 which it's claimed will take a semi-pro SLR with lens attached, plus either 2 more lenses or 1 lens and a flash. In reality it can take my 40D + Sigma 30mm f/1.4 attached in a nose-down orientatation, plus a memory card case and at a push a 50mm f/1.8 can be forced in too.

im guessing i need a mid size shoulder bag as im just starting out, and dont have tons of gear at the moment.. well i have a bit as i have had a spending spree the past couple of weeks! but ill be using a spare pick'n'pluck foam lined flight case i had here to store my stuff in as that will give me very good protection while at home. i really only want a shoulder bag for when im out and about getting photos for my villages website so wont need to carry that much... so a huge bag isnt essential. the bag that steve mentioned above looks great, and i was tempted but its to big for what i want right now..

i can see what you mean though they do say you can store 2 dslr plus lenses in the 7500 muffin top and i have googled it in my research and seen two in a bag but there wasnt a lot of spare space left over.

i know going to a camera shops the ideal answer sadly its not possible at the moment, wont go into long winded details other than to say i have an ongoing health issue that means travelling any distance is a rel problem. and as i live in a smallish south wales valleys vilage theres nothing like that anywhere near me

Never had that problem. I have the Muffin Top 7500 and I can fit in a Nikon D90 with grip, 35mm f/1.8, 85mm f/1.8, 18-105mm VR, 70-300mm VR and Sigma 10-20mm and there is loads of room.
It also carries memory cards, cable release, cleaning kit and a couple of filters.

Thats more than Crumpler say you should be able to get in it.

bloody hell, thats one hell of a lot of kit. i didnt think it was big enough for that, maybe i do need the 5500 instead. but on saying that the dimensions for the 7500 and 5500 are pretty similar

5500 - External 32 x 21 x 15 cm
7500 - External 35 x 22 x 16 cm

oh ****** it im off to order a 7500, theres so many bags to look at and pick from ill be here for a month trying to decide.. thanks for the advice guys... im loving this forum more and more every day

had my muffintop 7500 a couple of days ago, very very pleased with it. build quality seems excellent and its a nice size, big enough to get almost all my gear in without being to big that it looks silly being carried. i cant reccomend this enough
