Where abouts in the country area you? I'm sure there's plenty of people who could have a quick look without the £70 that PC world want...

Popped into PC World and they suggest bringing it in for testing.Seem to think it could be a faulty graphics card but would need to look £70 to look then cost of the card which I could possibly get back if only I could contact Mesh. The computer is only 9 months old.
If we open the cabinet they reckon it completely voids the warranty.
Seem to be stuck between a rock and a hard place..........
If the PC is still under warranty, then don't open it! Persevere with contacting Mesh and getting it fixed. No point paying out needlessly when you don't have to. If the hardware has packed up inside the warranty period, and is not the result of abuse or accidental damage, its down to them to fix it.

Advive .don't let PC tech guys in there at all.I had a major battle with them re my partners pc .After 3 months they ended up replacing motherboard .A week later it died .

Eventually manager gave a full refund and discount on a different machine but it was a battle.

Thanks Matt for the heads up.

Contacted Mesh this morning and they have told me to re-seat the graphics card and made a note on my form, that they had given their permission to open the base unit.If I have any further problems to phone them back. Hubby is none too good with technology so am going to wait for my son to take a look. Fingers crossed.......

Opening the case of a PC should NEVER EVER void the warranty. They are designed to be end user upgradeable.

Reseating the card is simple, you may need a Philips head (star or whatever they are commonly called in the UK) screw driver to do remove the one screw. If you are lucky, or paid enough, the case is a screwless design and just has a clip holding the card in place.

My son had the side of the base unit off last night, he reckons there are no cards in there to unclip. Nothing seemed at all loose either. Had it running on its side all yesterday evening and it was fine. Uprighted it today as it seemed to run fine again, attached my printer etc.
Was in the middle of something again and it come up Windows has encountered a problem (first time this has happened_} and needs to shut down, then the Motherboard sign came up. Turned everything off. Waited, restarted, the base unit came on, the monitor came on and then the usual No Signnal Input - Check Video Cable and blackness.
I feel like I am bashing my head against a wall.....

If there is no graphics card to unclip/reseat, then it must be running off the motherboard VGA. It is possible that the CMOS battery has died and needs replacing. This will require all the BIOS setting being set back to what they were beforehand.

Tinkering with the BIOS settings isn't really something for the layman to be doing. Get in touch with Mesh and tell them that its not solved the problem and you want the thing looked at by them or replaced. Dig out your paperwork and have a look at the warranty details etc. Its not down to you to fix it. Its down to them.

Thanks AMK, my paperwork says ASUS M4A785T-M Mainboard (DDR3) with integrated HDMI/DVI/VGA Graphics - MATX.
Will try and get my son to phone in the morning as they don't seem to listen to a woman also hearing an Indian voice is so hard.

It could be a heat problem causing this. Suggest you contact the retailer from which you brought the PC from, as under the Sale of Goods Act it's their job to get it fixed or replaced. If directly brought from Mesh then contact them. If unsure of where you stand then speack to your local CAB or Trading Standards.
