I'd love to say the Canon 500mm f/4 beasty - but I don't sit in undergrowth waiting for wandering wildlife often. For my normal type of photography, I'd love a Zeiss 18mm f 3.5 T* Distagon - see this

And a bagful of Lee filters, but that's another thread

Is this a list that will be sent to Santa? If so, please put me down for a Pentax DA 55mm f/1.4 Macro.

Don't like Werther's even if they are originals but the Sherbert Lemon sounds good.

I couldn't pick one. If I could I wouldn't own a dslr, as I'd only have need for a compact or hybrid bridge camera, where one lens covers all bases. Isn't that the whole point of owning a dslr?

Canon EF 1200mm f/5.6 L. I know its been discontinued and it would be no good for everyday shots but I love the idea of having a massive lens and being able to zoom in on things from a distance. Great for wildlife and photographing areas you cannot reach on foot etc...

I would choose the Sony 70-300mm G SSM - This is a great lens it very sharp at f5.6 and even sharper at f8-f11
I would chose this lens because it pretty much sets me up for any shot. Also the SSM focus is very quick.

At 16.5kg it might be a bit heavy for you. Jacobs used to list it at £70,000.

£70,000? really? It might be too heavy as well lol. I just get really impressed with these massive white lenses you see at football matches and think they really look the business. I like the idea of sitting on a roof somewhere in a city with one and taking lots of zoomed in candid shots of people etc..

Well you could always go for the LEICA APO-TELYT-R 1:5.6/1600mm, which is a steal at just over $2m

Or if you felt up to it, the Carl Zeiss Apo Sonnar T 1700mm f/4, which weighs in at a spritely 256kg
