One would assume that Future marketing will have had an input into the formation/makeup of the site with information about demographics, age groups, perceived needs and wants, future membership numbers (we know the current one is somewhat spurious), what genre of photography is or is likely to be popular in order of rank and levels of expertise of members. All this would be necessary to pitch to possible sponsors.

I mention this because a quick trawl throught the forms shows that the most popular thread with 53 replies from 727 views is 'What do you use? Nikon, Canon, Sony etc.'

Photography is hardly gets a mention. Isn't that a bit sad?

Abers,

This is possibly due to the forum only being a small version of what it eventually will become once we go live. At the moment, there is only issue reporting etc threads and the general thread. Once we go live there will be lots more threads to deal with all aspects of photography from equipment to technique to exhibitions and everything else in between I'm sure.

In the meantime, you will find photography techniques, discussions and other news not just related to equipment in the news, techniques and blogs section of the website.

Hope that helps,

Amy

Yep - before you know it there'll be at least 100 'what DSLR should I buy' threads ....

Does it come with instructions on how to put it up? If not there is a detailed 'Technique' section on site that will help you.

Now, now gentlemen, I found it necessary to use my tripod Sunday evening, so I found the tripod video to be extremely enlightening.
I dread to think how I would have managed to erect such a complicated piece of kit without the aid of this video.
