Amazing shots from the International Space Station

Not sure if I'm more jealous of his job or the use of a 1200mm lens ;-)

Incredible shots

Thank you for sharing these incredible images with PR members. We so often abuse our planet and it is only when you see images from a space ship looking down on to our world that we seem so vulnerable. The eye of the storm was amazing. I do hope that other members take the time to view these.

I think I read that the US space program currently uses Nikon's. Probably cheaper than the old Hasselblads they used on the moon. Interestingly, they left those cameras up there. They only removed the film canister and brought that back. They were trying to keep the weight down since they had rocks from the moon to bring back.

If anyone can get to the moon there would be a free Hasselblad if you can find it I guess then...

Nikon's, hhhmmmm, I would have thought it would have been a medium format or large format, failing that Canon 1Ds MkIII sprung to mind but I guess the Nikon D3x is on a par.

I'll have to search it out later and see if I can find out. If I do I'll post my findings here
