Ipad

Hi! i'm wondering if anyone is using an IPAD to show people examples of their photography ie like a digital portfolio?
If so how good are the colours (without a usb port I'm not sure if the screen can be calibrated) and are there any problems or good points with using it as a digital portfolio?

Thanks

A colleague at work has an iPad (mainly for reading on his daily commute). He also has some photos on their and subscribes to the Guardians photo feed. The images look fantastic and he's not made any changes to any settings - from what I've seen, I would recommned one for portfolios (saving for one for myself!).

Dont think it would be worth calibrating the screen anyway (or on a laptop) as you need to view the screen under strict guidelines for the calibration to be effective (18% grey walls, lights off etc). You could calibrate a laptop/iPad but when you sit with a client in their brightly lit lounge, it's all been a waste of time. Just convert sample images to sRGB so they look nice and bright/saturated.

Thanks for the reply Andy, I was looking at getting one so as i could quickly download some images onto it if I needed to see someone instead of doing lots of prints.
I think both the printed and digital portfolio formats both have their places and uses.

I love me iPad, i use it for reading, browsing, email, games and photo storage when i'm away on short trips. In my opinion, the colours are amazing and show photo's perfectly.
