Adobe DNG converter and elements 6

Hello all,
First post! I have a brand new Pen EPL-1- and an old PS Elements 6 on my computer (Windows 7). Tried to open RAW files from the camera in Elements- wouldn't work... looked online and the DNG converter *should* work- downloaded version 6.3 of the converter- converted some RAW files to .psd (successfully it seems)- but still cannot open them in Elements 6. Tried both the 32 bit and the 64 bit version on ADNG- neither worked. Anybody using the same combo successfully?

The DNG converter should produce .dng files, not .psd (photoshop) files. The DNG file can then be opened in Elements (in the raw converter - Adobe Camera RAW plugin).
