Cool Cast Shadows

“Shadows: The Depiction of Cast Shadows in Western Art (National Gallery London Publications)” by E. H. Gombrich (Sep 10, 1995).

This is one very interesting book explaining about cast shadows at painting and at photography, mainly in Western art through the centuries, but also at Japan (briefly) . Probably at National Gallery in London you can find more information.

My Album “The Pianist” was inspired also from such ideas. αR

I shudder to think what you were doing to cast that shadow.

Nice gallery Aritsos, I like your piano photo “ I Wish You Love ” - Great tone and depth, that I find inspirational. Thanks for sharing.

On a more serious note I googled the book and nearly choked at the price ; I think I will wait and find a second hand copy or look in a library

The Pianist © 1809/2009

The girl with the blue eyes. Why did she return to him ?

My theme for the first time has been uploaded at "PhotoRadar" represented here by Mr. Marcus Hawkins.
“The Pianist” – “Ο Πιανιστας” is a copyrighted theme by LT for Apostolis Ritsos – αRitsos.

Hi Apostolis,

I really like the poetic edge in 'The girl wiith the blue umbrella', provided by the colour, light and angle of the shot. Seen as a whole, your album has intrique.

Probably we need Miss Marple’s help.
Although she appeared in crime novels, and “The Pianist” is a love story, a drama with some parts of comedy, her help would have been useful answering the question :

“ The girl with the blue eyes, why did she return to him ? ”
