Connecting Camera to Laptop for Liveview

Hi - I have started using a studio light kit, mainly for still life and macro shots which I set up inside. It would be very useful to have the camera connected to the laptop to see what I am actually taking, as my close eyesight isn't wonderful. Is this possible? I used a Canon 40D camera and CS3. I see there is a 'Tethered' facility in Lightroom and wondered if anyone knows if a similar facility is available in CS3.

Thanks for any help you can give.

It's not really a CS3 task..... but if you have the disc that came with your camera you will have a little tethering program - all the manufacturers have them but they sometimes have to be looked for online and downloaded. The Canon one should be in the Canon EOS Utilities. You may need to have your camera connected when you start that program, or the option could be greyed out (but I'm no expert as I only got the disc because I have a Canon G10)
