Thank you to Amy and everyone else who helped. And I didn't mind the jokes at all – "if you can laugh at yourself, then when can you laugh?" as 'they' say.

I have managed to clean most of the offending ooze from the camera, though I am afraid some of the raspberry smell still remains, though I am sure that this too, will, in time, go eventually. It is slightly rank, so in the mean times I have attached a small Morrisson's stick-on airfreshener to the bottom of the camera and. All of the buttons seem to work fine, so it's another victory for the e-3's weather sealing!

Ah, I'd not realised it was an E3...

IIRC, when it was launched some press numpty spilled coke all over one and the Oly staff ran it under the tap. You could always have tried that - although you'd still be a braver man than I!
