There's about 12 posts in the "We love photoradar" section, with around half being in favour of the site, going off thread subjects alone. And there's 2 pages worth of posts in the "Forum issues" section.

Hmm.

Sure we can't make a "We hate photoradar" thread (hurrah for democracy..?)... but surely these figures say that louder than any thread could.

Cmon guys, give em a break, there have been fixes done already and it is a beta site, an old saying "only fools critise a half finished job", we want a great site, they want to give us a great site, lets work it out as a team, not as children.

Hello,

Have the people still having problems with the video tried doing a "hard refresh" (ctrl and f5 in windows) this is mentioned in Thomas' "website update" post?

Thanks Amy

Bob

In my very first post I said I thought the site would be good when finished and I liked what I saw

But "only fools critise a half finished job” sorry only a fool shows the client a job that is only half working and clearly has major issues that are obvious such as the lack of bridge between the main site and the forums
Microsoft can do it because they own the world and we have no choice, Future are not in that position yet.

And anyway I didn’t start a “We Love Photoradar “ that was asking for trouble

Keep up the good work

Ed

Bob, it`s not really a criticism, if you think about it. It`s more of a "call it as you see it".
As i said in my previous post.... i`m hoping for more when the site goes live.

It's a beta site, and afaik there's been only one report of bugs having been fixed, as well as only one report of what problems are being tackled. The problem of non-IE8 web browsers not showing the site correctly isn't listed as an issue in the one-and-only bug list.

In other words, it's very difficult to not see the term "It works for us, so the problem doesn't exist" being uttered by the 'crack team' of 'coders'.

Fwiw, there's already another post from another user, stating that another non-IE8 browser isn't showing the site correctly. No doubt the user will be 'advised' "It works for us. If you don't like this site, you're free to leave".

As I've already stated, the site rendering problems still exist, the site coding hasn't been altered since day one (I've "vimdiff"'d the code, so any differences would be immediately apparent). I've also checked the code myself, I'm not a website designer by profession, but I can spit out utilities, batchfiles and webpages/sites in various languages (Pascal, PHP, HTML, VB, to name four). And, to say I found the cause of the problem within 30 minutes, erm... so much for the 'crack team'.

It's difficult to believe the 'coders' are busy beavering away behind the scenes, particularly since the recent list of "fixes" only total to about a weeks work... not, er... how many months that it has been..?

August has 31 days. I saw the year of launch as being 2009. That leaves less than 16 days, before this shambles is no longer "beta". Time's running out.

I might be seen as being harsh, judgemental, and very critical, but there's been other posts about how the beta announcement should've been handled, and those posts list a proper methodical guideline to how this site should've been created. If the beta "launch" hadn't have been a case of "Get everyone involved as quick as possible", the site's problems would've had a much better chance to have been resolved smoothly.

Promises and deadlines were repeatedly broken and missed, thus ensuring the chaos that this site has become.

Dave, you can clearly see the problems so why can`t they.
They`d do well to take you`re advise on some of this.wasn`t that the original idea for inviting member`s over to test this site in it`s beta stage.

Beggers belief realy.
