Angry Do we have Politically Correct auto-editing on the site?

This comment will not post in this article:

I got arrested in the middle-east, as a prof photographer, for taking a picture of the Casio sign at dusk and held (at gunpoint), until papers checked.

For the same thing to start happening in the UK is just so very wrong.

This is not a police state, Saudi is and it would be expected there.

With this silly error message:

Please only use a clean appropriate comment.

I was asked - why at dusk?

a) The sky is pretty
b) It hides the unfinished look of the streets
c) it looks posh
d) the place is basically a right dump, but the sign cost a fortune
e) yes, as the 1st western prof photgrapher for a arab newspaper, i got arrested a lot.

The site does have auto editing for words, including some like if you used former US Vice President Cheney's first name I am looking but I cannot see where if two words were linked it would kick it out.

The auto editing is part of the default install in the forums, but I do not know about the rest of the site.

Hi chris,

It appears that our "naughty word" list also included the word "arrested", and it was this that was kicking it out. We'll be amending the banned word list shortly! Sorry about that!

Thanks,

Amy
