Last roll of Kodachrome has been processed

The last roll of Kodachrome film produced by Kodak has been processed. Fittingly the photos were taken by a National Geographic photographer.

There really was nothing to match Kodachrome 25 for colour saturation and clarity (no grain). DSLRs will give similarly noise-less images at 100ISO, and you can 'up' the saturation in camera or on the computer.... but it isn't quite the same, is it. Mind you, the Kodachrome was an expensive way to photograph - you didn't want to waste a frame, but sometimes it was better to bracket a shot. The only 'good thing' was that it made you take your time, frame the shot perfectly, focus carefully and make sure the exposure was spot on.... and then it was still a mystery until you got the results back from Kodak.
