Black and White Printing

I'm not sure if this is the right section for this question, however here goes. I recently Scanned some old Black and White photo's but when I printed them they were not really black and white. They had a horrible Tint to them, not black and white at all. Where did I go wrong? I have a Epson R320 Printer. Any one got any suggestions? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

tomjon.

Did you scan as RGB? Or as black and white?

Thanks Senior Member for your reply. Sorry for the delay in answering but thinking back I scanned as on Auto. I probably should have used black and white. I'll try again. Thanks again.
Cheers tomjon.

inkjet printers are not at their best printing black and white photo's and still use all colours even though what you are printing is black n white they are renowned for leaving a cast of some sort

i would be taking a closer look at the printer
