Wacom Tablet

Any advice for a first time tablet user to use with CS5?

The bamboo range is cheaper than the Intuos 4 range but is it good for using with the new painting brushes in CS5?

Any comments on what is best to buy would be appreciated.

Thanks

Ann

If you are only going to use it occasionlly then the Bamboo would do otherwise, the Intuos 4 would be the best buy. Both should work fine with CS5, as it's just replacing your mouse to give greater control over your work.

Thumbs up Thanks

Thank you - I guess the decision is the more you pay the better the tool - will see what the budget can justify - I have always loved making "pictures" from my photos and it seems like the new brush tools work better with a tablet.

Tilt not working

Well- I finally bought the wacom Bamboo pen & touch - I live next to the Kruger National Park and delivery took a long time!

The main reason I bought the tablet was to paint in CS5 and wanted to change the angle of the brush by tilting the pen (with out going to the brush panel to change the angle)! All the CS5 videos show this - but mine does not tilt!

Also the "pressure"option is greyed out

HELP please

Not sure about the set-up option for this tablet. May need to dowmload the lastest drivers and I've included a link for that below.

http://www.wacom.com/downloads/drivers.php

Also, may need to setup CS5 for what you require, so have posted a link to Adobe's website on seting up the pen in CS5.

Hope this helps.

Hi
Thanks for that - tried it but still no joy.

In brush presets eg angle jitter- when I click on pen pressure or pen tilt - I get an error message a yellow exclmation mark saying thet it is not supported by the tablet

I am trying to get an answer from Wacom - but they are the fastest

I hope I haven't bought the wromg one - I bought the bamboo pen and touch!

Wrong one

Looks like I bought the wrong one
Searching the web - some sites seem to sat that the bamboo is tilt sensitive others do not. Consensus when you look at comparisons between the intuos and the bamboo is that the bamboo is not tilt sensitive.
So will have to try and sell the bamboo and buy an intuos
really fed up as it was my birthday present to myself and was so looking forward to "painting" some of my wild life pics with out having to keep changing the angle of the brush in the brush presets panel.

Before you do that check this Abode forum below.

http://forums.adobe.com/search.jspa?...=true&q=Bamboo

From my reading it appears every time Adobe release a new version of Photoshop there are problems with Wacom tablets. Also, from my reading it suggests that the Bamboo should do what you require, and I think the problem lies with the drivers in Windows, CS5 and Wacom. I think you need to uninstall these drivers and install the latest for each. Failing that or if you are unsure which drivers to uninstall or don't know how to do it then wait for Wacom to get back to you. Hope that helps.
