Misty Pictures

Hi all, have come back from a holiday in china and pictures on the great wall are a bit disapointing because of the smog in the backround which clouds the wall and mountains in the distance. Does anyone know of software that will clear this?. I use adobe CS4, is there anything in this that will help.
Hope you can help

Not that I'm aware of Kev. You can add mist but not sure about removing it...

That is kind of like asking to remove a building blocking your view, if the sensor did not record it, you will not see it.

I had a similar problem with smoke in Moscow. I couldn't get rid of it totally, but an increase in saturation helped a bit ...

A bit of Curves will help - effectively it allows you to alter the contrast but you can control it better than just a simple contrast change
