It does. However, the Sigma 10-20 gets better reviews.

Mark, where must have you been hiding for the past few months. If I had a pound for every member of this forum who raved about their Sigma 10-22mm lens I'd have enough money to buy one myself!

Ive read to many forums saying the opposite which swayed me. given the option of a canon or sigma they all went for canon. Oh well thats always going to happen I guess I will have to live with my decision.

The useful fredmiranda site gives the Canon a 9 and the Sigma an 8.4. Having said that I have the Sigma and think it's a great lens!

I have always reckoned that people will rave about what they've got.

For example... I've got a second hand Sigma 10-20mm and couldn't recommend it enough. However, I don't have a Canon 10-22mm or a Canon camera so I personally can't compare them.
Most people are unlikely to own both lenses (or any other equipment for that matter).

Another thing to consider is that people put different emphasis on different features. For a lot of people, owning OEM kit is very important. I know someone who would physically cringe at the idea of mounting anything other than a Canon lens on their 350D.

People (and here comes a dangerous generalisation for you) also tend to buy what they can afford at the time. I don't know of many people who, having allocated some money for a piece of equipment, then spends less (unless something else crops up in the meantime)...

Thanks chris , thanks for your honesty and for what its worth I think you are spot on.
I am not saying that the sigma is not as good as the canon i dont know enough only what i read and as you say that can differ from sima owners to canon owners.
