No, I'm not confused.

I just used the May edition as an example, to demonstrate the usual timing of when I receive the magazine.

So, for example...I'd receive the July issue on or around the 23rd of June....or the September issue on or around the 23rd of August....and so on. I usually receive the magazine a week or so before the actual calendar month of that particular edition starts.

And yes...I received the May issue.

Then I'm confused. I don't work for PhotoPlus or the subs team, but I'm not sure how you could get your copy of the magazine before the UK subscribers get it every month - given the obvious logistics of transporting it to Australia. The July issue goes on sale in the shops on 30 June, UK subscribers receiving it a couple of days before that, so with the timescales the subs team give us, Australian copies should be received the week after that.

Perhaps there's been some crossed wires because the date of the magazines used to be ahead, so February's issue came out in January, but because of the Spring issue, the dates have now corrected themselves and are now published in the same month as the cover date.

Anyway, as I said, if you haven't received your copy by the time of the expected Australian delivery date (Tuesday 8 June) drop My Favourite Magazines an email as they will have all your details.

Yes. Perhaps you are confused. I've been receiving this mag long before you arrived as a staff writer and have become very familiar with the timing of its arrival

As you've just said, 'the date of the magazines used to be ahead'. Perhaps it's understandable then that I should have become accustomed to that publishing/delivery schedule? I wasn't told there'd been a change in schedule. Perhaps better communication is required on the part of those who put out the magazine to us, your valued subscribers?

And perhaps, given that you have just admitted you don't work for PhotoPlus, you are not in the best position to comment?

You're no doubt aware of this already, but there's a back issues area on the subscriptions website that you can check the most recent covers of PhotoPlus to ensure that you're up to date.

I'm Laura; I manage the direct marketing and subscriptions for PhotoPlus magazine.


I'm sorry to see that you've experienced some confusion with the delivery of your magazines. I can confidently confirm that when our logistic operations run smoothly, the current issue lands in Australia one week after it has gone on sale in the UK. This is two weeks after subscribers in the UK receive their copies.


They are not always received by our customers at the same time each month due to the fact that we send 13 issues out a year. The previous three issues have been as follows:


Issue 34, spring issue, on sale in the UK 7th April, arrive in Aus around the 14th
Issue 35, May issue, on sale 5th May, arrive in Aus around the 13th May
Issue 36, June issue, on sale 2nd June, arrives in Aus around the 9th June

etc...

Sometimes this schedule doesn't work out due to problems such as the volcano in Iceland, in which case we try to keep everyone informed through our website www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk.

I've been collecting the mag since Issue 12. Issues 34-36 aside, it does appear that the magazine has been arriving later and later. I can very clearly remember receiving the magazine much earlier than that.

Anyway...I still haven't received my June copy.

Hi Amy , I'm not complaining either but given your comments I thought you might like to know my copy arrived this morning (Friday 4th June) which would appear to be, again from your comments, considerably behind its appearance in the shops. Perhaps there is a problem as I am now not sure what date I should have received it by. By the way I'm not as far away as Matt as I live in S.England. I have to say though it is always worth waiting for. A great magazine!

You're right, that's 3 days behind the in-shop date, and about a week behind the date the subscribers should have received it.

I'm told that some of the batches might have got to the UK distributors late and because of the bank holiday, didn't make it out in time. Apologies for this, but glad it arrived eventually.
