Busy weekend and uncharged batteries, so this may have to be my entry this week

I'm in with this after spending what seemed an age chasing bees around the garden and getting nothing.

I did a very stupid thing after getting the ladybird shot, I was changing lenses to try and get a bird shot and knocked my macro off the dining table onto a wooded floor, I haven't yet had the courage to put it back onto the camera to see if it still works.

How well do lenses bounce

Dropped lens- oh dear. Best of luck.

Well, I'm in. Kudos to to SieSmith for a good "stretch" topic this week, well outside my comfort zone. Those ants are so skittish as well, I had to try several techniques to get a decent shot. Lots and lots of rubbish ones (just like my water drop last week).

Mike hope your lens is okay - fingers crossed.

Mark hope you get your shot, the weather up here is windy and wet and still too cold for bugs.

Just managed to get this one before the weather took a turn for the worse.

Jim.

Hope your lens is okay Mike, said whilst crossing my fingers for you...
Patience is definitely a virtue when it comes to photography, particularly when trying to shoot bees, woodnooks or hoverflies. Why don't they ever land or approach the flower your lens is trained on? Do they do it on purpose, I wonder?

Anyway, I went with a photograph of a ladybird, as it was a much more accommodating model.

I've decided to change my entry, everso slightly...

Spring fun was definitely on the minds of just about every potential subject today.

This male was more interested in chasing girls than posing, but he got so worn out trying to have his wicked way with them that he took the occasional breather. Had to be fast to catch him TBH
