April issue - I'm Ripped off!

I look forwards to buying Digital camera every month and especially for the camera and photoshop tutorials and the reviews. But this month I feel like I've been mugged off, like they say on eastenders.

Why is a video that was on this months CD has been posted on this website? It's right here so look!

What is the point of me buying the magazine if this is going to be repeated for free on the website? I hadn't even got to watching it yet as I like to spend time working through the magazine page by page and completeing the questionaires, but now I see it's all on the website so I may as well have saved the 3.99 and put it towards something else like food or a pair of socks!

Is this going to be how it is fomr now on - I always loved getting the magazine and I love the website, too mosty of time I love them both, but if they've got the same things on them what it the point?

I would appreciate an answer to this from the editorial team and I am not happy right now.

Hi GStitt,

While we do replicate some of the content from the magazine, it is offered as a taster of what you can get in the magazine - you will notice that only a selection of the videos from April's magazine are on the website - and not all of them.

You will also find other things in the magazine that we do not have on the website, for instance the flash masterclass, pro interviews, day at the races, hotshots, group test of flash guns, ask the team and several of the other tutorial videos.

I hope you continue to enjoy both the magazine and website and thank you for your comments,

Best wishes,

Amy

Thankyou for the swift response Amy – I will continue to enjoy your work.

I still don't see the sense to putting the same video on the website and on the magazine though. There is nothing to say on the video that's on the website that this video is promoting the videos in the magazine, so if I come on here for a video and I am new and I see the same video on the magazine what am I to think?

Amy, it looks like a slippery slope to me and I hope it's not one that we go down.

What really annoys me though is that on the website you can view the videos full screen but not via the discs - click on full screen on the disc just gets a larger black border which fills the screen but video itself stays the same small size.

I'm sure originally you could view videos full screen but this seems to have changed somewhere along the line.

Is there any reason why they can't be made to view full screen again???

Les I have the same problem but had thought that it was just me! Now that you've mentioned it on this forum, perhaps the Magazine team will get involved and show us where we are going wrong. Or 'going south' as I heard someone say on the television the other day. It is most frustrating though. Fortunately I have a screen magnifier that I can place over the monitor to enlarge the size of the view. This came into my possession while doing some charity work with the RNIB and you can find out more about the various types of magnifying devices available here... http://www.rnib.org.uk/livingwithsig...FR2Y2Aod3D68IQ
