New Flash Unit

Hi all, am looking to get a new flash unit for my canon 450d. Am torn between the canon 430ex mkII or the nissin Di 622. Any help or advise would be realy appreciated.

I personaly have the 430 and it is really a good flash unit.
I don't know the nissin but if you look at this month mag, they say that the nissin Di 866 is even better for almost the same price.
for me the recycling time is vital and the 2,6 seconds difference between them makes it...

Really happy canon user however the 430 doesn't have wireless master option( so you need either a 530 or the 7 D with it)
hop this helps

I went the canon route having started with a Jessops cheapo.Well built ,designed to go with the camera from the ground up.

If you can afford it go Canon is my advice. I have the 580 ex which is very well built and as said above has the ability to control other flashguns as a master gun.If you don't think you will need that than go for the 430.

The ability to control the flash from the camera is good too.........not all aftermarket guns give full compatibility with the camera.

Thanks for the replies, I think you are right to say canon gear for canon cameras. will probably go for the 430ex, seems to fit the bill for my needs, thanks again for the help.
