Smile Raw images in CS4

I have downloaded a trial version of Photshop CS4 Extended, but already have Photoshop Elements 8 on my computer.
My problem is that when I open Bridge in CS4 and try to upload raw files from my camera, they appear in the format of PSE from my elements program and will not open in CSE, I get the message " could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document"
Even after uninstalling Elements 8 and try to upload my photos into CS4, they appear as XMP files and get the same error message.
How can I upload into CS4 with the right file type to open in Raw5.5 in CS4.
Has anybody got the answer, have tried the support portal on the Adobe website but all they do is direct me to the forums or knowledge base, which do not have the answer.

Many thanks in antisipation

Sounds like you do not have the latest raw update for your camera although its supported in PSE8. ( PSE8 came out after CS4 so proberbly shipped with the lates updates installed)

Try installing Camera raw 5.6 as its the latest one for CS4.

Raw images in CS4

Hi Oly Paul.

Wow thanks, this worked a treat, can now see all my PSE photo's in CS4.

Beats me why the Adobe support portal could not have suggested this.

Will now have to consider buying CS4 ( persuading the wife he-he)

Liked your photo's from your link to your website.

Once again Many Thanks

There is a rumour going around that CS5 is due out - though Adobe are not saying when! Might be worth waiting for?

Paul may know, but if he does he won't be able to say!
