having just visited with the remarkable mr ellis' shots this morning (thanks for the link fizzio), i have to say, i am looking forward to this challenge. i have an idea in mind already!

now, as for mr ellis' penchant for sp.... i personally think they are great, and am always very impressed. having done a few myself before, it's quite hard to get the focus correct. i use the remote trigger for my D80 (wirelesss), and sometimes the timer function so i can settle in prior to the final click.

ps. since my dp has my face in it, i've decided i shan't be entering one with a face. i feel excused.....

Thanks for the positive feedback Terri. Thanks to Mr Moat, my Flickr stats went beserk last night My penchant is for panoramic landscapes, as you know. It just doesn't overly bother me appearing in a photo, particularly if it helps put across an idea or narrative.

So what's this idea you're not telling us about then? Suppose we'll have to wait and see, eh. Your point about the remote is a good one and I've just realised I haven't got one yet for my new camera. Looks like the self timer for me this weekend and possibly even manual focus

Looking forward to seeing the outpouring of bravery this weekend!

The Wolf SP concept was based on my GGGG Grandfather. He was known as "The Wolf" amongst the Shawnee during the 1700s due to his speed at travelling on foot through the forests of North America. He was French and after The Indian Wars between France and England became a Lieutenant in the English Indian department, and a Loyalist as a result during the late 1700s.
ISO 100_ Shutter Speed 1/200_Exposure Compensation-1_Focal Length 37mm_RAW_WB Shade-Aperture 5.
Effects applied in Photo Shop CS2.

Well I've gone and done it, a self portrait, never ever thought I would.

What a nightmare trying to get the focusing right, I had to use the 10 second timer as somebody (not mentioning who) had taken the new batteries for the remote shutter out in her handbag......................

So that's why so many people had nightmares? You're welcome Mr E, excellent series and I am not surprised that you are running low on ideas for an SP - 365 pictures of yourself - narcissist's dream! I'm working on something but I know for a fact that my wife will hate it!
