Well just to break the seal, her's one of me from this comp about a year ago when the theme was "surplus to requirements". Not the most flattering picture but quite funny IMHO...

On an unrelated matter, can I be liberal in interpreting the rule of "it must be taken by you" to mean that as long as you set up the shot, compose it etc, someone else can actually press the shutter? Not that I have anything in mind, I just want to keep my options open. (In case you're wondering I did take the above shot myself and it was very awkward trying to position the diffuser and hold the camera!)

I promise not to be a scaredy cat - just invested in Portrait Professional 9 as a gift so should be able to make myself look passable - then again might go for a cartoon effect!

You`ve set us running reggy- and I well remember that great shot ogga. I assure fizzio that I will not be getting my bottom out again for the "any part of you" bit of the challenge

I'd like to join in and say that your topic has put me off too Reggy, but I suspect a few of the old guard would put me right on that I have been known to use myself as a stooge on occasion.

Here's one I took last year that I was pleased with.

i am sure your all missing the point - it can be a self portrait - it doesnt have to have your face in the picture and can be any part of your body "best creative" it can be a shadow, your eyes, your nose, toes, reflection whatever

use this link if you require any inspiration
i havent fully checked every image at this link so may not be work safe

Just a suggestion reggy, but it might be worth your while simply editing your first post adding the above into it. This might be of benefit to those who perhaps don't read the entire thread - only the theme set. Like I said, only a suggestion.

Why thank you Kristin. As you're only too aware, the series you've highlighted was entirely your own fault Actually found doing a sp every day and keeping them varied wasn't as easy as I thought it might be. Not sure I've much creative juice left for this weekend's challenge now.

Just joined the site as a budding amateur. Was looking forward to contributing this weekend after seeing last weekends final shots. Although i must say that creative portraits isnt the most attractive of genre's to start off with as an amateur. Looking forward to next weeks theme!
