PhotoRadar update 23 February 2010

Hi everyone,

You may have already noticed a few changes around the site, here's a quick round up of what's new.

1. Site speed - we've rejigged some of the code behind the scenes and improved some caching so the site should appear a little faster now.
2. Top bar navigation - tweaked a little bit and added our shopping price comparison button in the top right.
3. Photo of the day stars have now been fixed, so should be present for those selected - if not drop us a line.
4. General bug fixes: URLs, RSS, adding price comparison links to bottom of articles, and other assorted bits and pieces.
5. Finally, we've removed the "what's new" graphic from the homepage carousel so you can see the photo of the day in all it's glory!

We're continually updating and improving the site, our technical people are now working through the next batch of fixes and improvements, and we'll post on here when the next round is ready to go.

Hi Amy one of the problems I have encountered and I think talking to other members they have too, is that it is hard sometimes to know if you have PM. could there be a link on the screen top right where you upload your photos, to say if you have any new messages ? Sure your tech guys can sort it out

I've reported this as a possible improvement, our tech guy is going to have a look around at the forum software and see what he can do. I'll let you know the outcome :-)

In the meantime, do you have it set so that you receive an email to your personal account when a new message is received? If you haven't go to settings > edit options > scroll down a little until you see "messaging and notification" and check the box "receive email notification of new private messages."

Just a thought but from the shopping section could you have a link to reviews you have done of the products? It could be quite helpful.

Hi Cutter,

You just get an email to your personal account (whatever you registered your PhotoRadar account) with that says "New Private Message at PhotoRadar Forum" - the email sender will come up as PhotoRadar Forum. You can read the message within this email and it provides a link to follow to be able to reply.

thanks Amy, at least I know what alert Im looking for now
