Your pic is close to being a good one in terms of the composition just get out and practice.....it is also a good candidate for converting to black and white.
Do you know I was just thinking the same about shooting in raw would give you a lot more control in the editing. Plus converting this shot to a black and white would work really well, once you've upped the contrast a little more.

Hi Matt, thanks for the reply, i understood everything but the Bracket exposures reference, i have no idea what that is, please excuse my ignorance but im totally new at this digital photography...

hi.

Bracketing of an exposure can often be done automatically via the camera menu.In simple terms if for example you take a shot in aperture priority and the camera thinks the"correct "exposure is 1/60th of a second at f8.

you can ask it to bracket exposure either side of this to get a couple of other shots usually one stop over exposed and another under exposed.
(this can be varied though in the camera )
that would be something like 1/30th at f8 and 1/125th at f8.

just checked online and your camera does have the feature it's tucked away in the menu somewhere so have a look in the manual
