Panasonic TZ7

Hi all.
Got a budget of approx £220 ish and was looking at the TZ7.
Would this be the best compact I could get for my money??
Seems to have some cracking reviews.

Thanks.

It's regarded as one of the best due to the quality of the Leica lens, that really has superb image quality. I would say that the Canon S90 is it's closest rival presently.

It's the one I'd buy for that money.

Can't fault my wife's TZ6, use it myself sometimes. Cracking camera.

Shop around and haggle, though. See what extra freebies they'll throw in. If you don't ask, you won't get.

Cheers, Sie

Just spotted a blue TZ7. Is this an import?? Been on Panasonic official site & it shows only red, silver, black & taupe.

Talking Great value for money

You wont get a better compact anywhere - I still use my trusty TZ3 - the TZ7 is just the same model a few years down the updating line - it is superb value for money - bar none - Panasonic compacts are all superb value for money - long live compacts.

Also worth mentioning that, with the announcement of the TZ8 and TZ10 (to replace the TZ6 and TZ7), the TZ7 might well start dropping in price.

I'm not sure I completely agree. The S90 is, by all accounts, a very good camera but it doesn't come anywhere close to the TZ7 in terms of it's zoom. The S90 has a 28-105mm (equiv.) which is 3.75x while the TZ7 has a 25-300mm (12x).

This means that the Panasonic is not only much longer but significantly wider (the horizontal angle of view for the S90 is 64.7 degrees while it's 73.6 degrees on the TZ7).
