I find it strange that people are complaining abiout this thread.

Why the need for it?

Why the need to complain about it?

Maybe people are just interested in what equipment other folk are using and not in some kind of sinister one upmanship.

I'm sure the people complaining have never asked anyone about their equipment and have no interest in anything that anyone owns and never will.

After that I'm not telling you what I've got.

Just kiddin. I'm a Canon boy. Not because of any real brand preference, I was a Nikon fan in my film days. I switched to canon purely on a cost basis at the time of buying my first Digi. I just upgraded to a 5D markII from a 350D which is a huge step for me but a small step for Conon kind.

Thats right, I just wondered why people use what they use. In the same way I was so set on a Canon 350 but when it came to handling it, I did'nt conect to it like the Nikon d50.

You got here eventually Sue, welcome to the parallell universe of confusion. Hope you find the threads interesting and stimulating, there's some really in depth photography discussions here.
I know you go out very early with your camera each day, do you have toast or cereals before you sally forth?

I'm a cereals man myself. ;-)

A small orange, banana and coffee - and a bowl of cereal on my return - and I'm currently using both a Tamrac and a Lowepro camera bag to carry my D300.....just as a matter of interest......

It makes me mad that people keep bleating on about what food they eat to take photographs.

Sooner or later somebody will come along and say that they don't think the food you eat makes any difference and that "any decent photographer" could take just as great a picture after eating rabbit dropping muesli as bacon, sausage, egg, fried slice and a mug of tea.

I'm here to tell you that's nonsense and just put about people who are jealous of other people's breakfasts!

Before a heavy day's shooting I always eat macaroni cheese. A friend eats porridge with sliced banana. Come 3 pm I think we'd all agree whose pictures are better.

It's just the same with socks. Red socks for landscape, grey for candids. I've lost count of the number of times I've set up a landscape only to discover I'm wearing blue socks, so I've had to shuffle off to try and find some architecture, and that's hard out on the moors.

First one to guess what's on the menu for no socks will get an exclusive PM about what lens caps I use!

A little light banter just to set up the day.

Here, here, Paul and Abbers. More about photography and less about kit would be nice, and maybe I'll stay around for more this time.

Edit: Maybe I shouldn't be so contraversial though.
