Post What Do You Use? Nikon, Canon, Sony etc?

What camera do you use. I feel a little left ind these days as I have a Nikon D50, currently saving for a D300.

What I want to know is how you came to use the camera that you do, have you ever moved to another brand.

When I first got my D50, I was only ever looking at Canon, the 350 but when I first held it, I did'nt connect to it. I just wasnt comfole holding it. I usef to have a Kodak Z750 and the grip on that is simular to that of Nikon bodies and when the guy in the shop suggested it, it was no turning back.

Anyway this is my first post and I look forward to making many more.

My Equipment

Steve, I have two Nikons, along with several other brands of digital SLR cameras, and four working film cameras. I also have a nice variety of lenses, of most major makes.

Most of my work is with some variation of macro flower images with some wildlife, landscapes, sunrises, and sunsets thrown in for a bit of variety.

Once in a great while I will also take photographs of family members.

PJ

I have done a bit of a bounce around, I started with Canon, moved to Nikon, then Pentax and eventually back to Canon. I just prefer the way the image looks out of the Canon.

Probably wasted a lot of money moving around the manufacturers, but it seemed fun at the time.

Not sure what this type of thread is supposed to do except give a form of self assurance that you chose the right brand.

A top class photographer will take top class images whatever brand of camera you stuck in his hand.

Personely I prefere to be judged by my photgraphy rather than the equipment I own and use which has been varied over the years.

Hi Steve,

I started with a Kodak Z740 (A gift from my Ma when I was having difficulty holding things following an arm injury and onset of Parkinsons) and the pleasing pics got me hooked again on an old hobby.

I now use a Fujifilm S8000fd (having been convinced that it could match DSLRs), and I guess I'll add a DSLR to the shopping list one day.

Regards
Andy

I started out with a Kodak Box! I'm sure many on here will be familiar with this camera!! Moved on to Agfa Isolette,MPP,Rollei TLR, EXA/EXacta SLR, Pentax,Mamiya TLR, Olympus, Canon, Nikons, all film cameras.
Digitals - Fuji SLR's and now mostly Nikons. Its your choice what brand /Make that you go for, and what enjoyment you will achieve from the camera, of your choice. Use your camera frequently, meet up with other like minded people and enjoy your hobby, pastime. Regards

Sony A200 currently along with a Panny LX2 for the pocket. I miss my Konica Minolta 5D which was mostly a better camera than the A200. I am not greatly impressed with the new batch of Sonys, the A230, A330 and the A380. I tried an A230 and the handling is just not for me.

I'm waiting to see what they do in the middle ground before moving on from the A200. The A900 is awesome, the A700 is very good but ageing and due for replacement. A FF A850 is due but will probably cost too much and the A500/A550 are also due some time soon but who knows what they will be like. If they follow the trend of the A230 etc, I'm looking elsewhere.
