That was going to be my suggestion! I'd best get mouse hunting!

Whilst I have everyone's attention so to speak, you can't help but notice that I played around with the rules a bit - changing and adding a few words here and there, made a bit more of rule 8 and included a new rule 9. Opinions please as to whether the rules are now comprehensive/detailed enough, state everything that needs to be stated and should now be adopted as the standard for future weekend competitions.

I did notice the changes in the rules and they look absolutely fine to me.

Seems Ok to me, maybe a bit overly wordy but that's maybe to be expected after last weekend.

Suggestion : What about posting them in the "Developing a set of rules" thread for future reference and maybe getting that thread stickied so we can refer to it all the time?

Cheers,
Sie

Interesting topic and I have a couple of ideas already.

A quick word on critique - I'm not sure if everyone knows about this, but entrants are encouraged to provide a critique of the image above and below theirs in the entries thread. It's not compulsory but it has a few clear benefits for the reviewer and reviewee:

1 - it encourages you to think critically about the images. What do you like? What could be improved?
2 - It encourages reviews for images that may not have gotten many votes, thus supporting beginners
3 - It provides a spread of reviews without any one person having to take loads of time to prepare a set of reviews
4 - When it works, everyone gets at least two reviews

I don't think it necessarily needs to be in the "rules" but is a good practice that I try to follow every week.

Points noted, and as regards Sie's comment I have started a new thread titled 'Developing a set of rules for the weekend competition' and shall PM Amy asking her to sticky it.

It would probably also be easier were the member having responsibility for setting the theme simply to link to the appropriate 'rules thread' rather than having to copy/paste them everytime into the currect competition thread therebye taking up half a page.
