adobe camera raw for cs problems

Hi there, techno- phobe requires techno- wizard. I have jumped ship from windows to mac and 3 months after spending a lot of money doing so i still have problems when i try to convert nef files to adobe dng despite having downloaded the new plug-in (2.4) for CS (mine is version 8) & Macintosh. My IMac runs OSX version 10.6.2. When i try to convert my NEF files using the raw converter I get the message pop up " Error - The source file (my memory card/reader) does not contain any supported files." Is there anyone out there with a big uber-brain who can help me please?

Not sure which DNG converter you have downloaded? If it's a early version then it may not support your camera, so suggest you download the lastest version as it's a standalone program and will work with all versions of Photoshop that support DNG files.
