I would offer some encouraging tips on how to do it, but I really haven't got the hang of using this site yet, hence all my entries are linked to Fickr.

Carol - I think only admins/mods can change thread titles so probably worth dropping a PM to Amy. Also ask them to "sticky" it.

I forgot to explain how I took my pic. I placed a plastic dish (actually the case from a UV filter) atop a CD and added a thin layer of water and mixed in some olive oil. I lit the CD from the side with an anglepoise lamp to get the rainbow effect, and shot from directly above using a tripod. This wasn't an original idea - it was in a camera mag (not DCM) a few months ago.

Here's a rejected shot which in retrospect I think I prefer (oh well). In this case I had the same setup but instead put a few marbles in a glass and poured the oil/water mixture over it.

I have to say that it was a tough one this week. There were two images that really stood out to me and it was difficult to choose between them.

It's looking like a two horse race, either would be worthy winners. Good luck.

Great entry this week, lets hope it keeps getting bigger.
Well it is easy doing the poll

Yes Mark, easy when you know how

The only thing is with Bob's instructions, it says to post the poll and then edit it and then change the title. Amy had to change my title - would there be any othe way of doing it ?

Carol ,Yes I got it wrong, then had to post another poll. You can not edit the title , but you can edit the rest, so you have to be careful, still not sure how i did it myself! But for some reason on my last 2 comps I dont think I will have to do it for a while

You did a great job carol with so many entries ,well done.
