My first portrait series.take a look.

heres something i've done recently. would appreciate any positive/negative critique on the series or on anything in my photosteam.

P.S. I know that most of my portraits are underexposed, but I made them that way, since i looke, darker, moodier look.

I really like these shots, they bring out character so well, I'm a bit of a newbie with photography and in the coming months I'm hoping to do some portrait shots, could you let me know how I can achieve shots like this?

I'm working on a 350d with 50mm f/1.8, 70-210mm and 18-55mm lenses. I also have a sigma 530 flashgun. Any advice at all to try and achieve shots like this would be really helpful, as well as editting in photoshop advice....How did you set-up the lighting to achieve the shadows and shading of the background? Thanks, keep up the good work!
