While I'm on a roll and getting so much help from folks can I raise a question that's been bothering me since the demise of DCMag forum? I recall a thread which had a steel rule against some herb/spice jars and the OP had used a layer technique on the 2 or three shots each of which had been focussed at a different position into the subject . By some means, and posssibly it's the same one I ask about in the Get to grips with Layers thread next to this, the out-of-focus sections of each layer had been erased and the result was a close-up shot with front to back sharpness. The OP had used PSE6 and I recall suggestions on how to do it properly and also on some software which could be purchased but cannot remember anything else. Did Chris-P get involved? I seem to remember some input from him or someone else about using the recipe on the jars!!

I may have got involved, I can't remember now! Forseti has given you more, and better, information that I would have done anyway!

I might have a go at this myself as I've never done it!
