Question Canon Flashgun

Hi,

I have brought a canon flashgun to use with my canon 450d camera was wondering if anyone had any tips of when to use it. Anything would be useful

I think the answer to the part of your post that I have highlighted can be answered by 'the reason you decided to buy it in the first place'. Apologies if this reply appears somewhat negative but at the moment you question is much too broad for an opening post whilst at the same time lacking in sufficient information. It might for instance help if you provided information as to what aspect of photography you are interested in, what model of flashgun have you purchased, have you read the accompanying handbook and are there any areas which are not fully understood. Post back with at least this information, especially your reasons for buying it in the first place which of course is linked to what aspect of photography is of interest to you.

Hi,

Sorry I didn't provide the information. I brought a Speedlite 580EXII. Before i brought it, i hired one from a local camera store. It was very useful & very impressive, i thought i would get one. I have used it when taking photos people. I have read the handbook it came with, but was just looking for anymore tips.

I enjoy all sorts of photography - people, nature, wildlife, landscapes etc

Thanks & Sorry again

Do you want to use it on camera or off-camera? For learning off-camera techniques take a look at http://strobist.blogspot.com/

You might also like to consider purchasing this - for the price it appears good value for money and the content is extremely comprehensive. http://www.michaelthementor.com/stor...products_id=15
