Hope you all had a Merry Xmas and Santa was generous :-)
Well, I'm not completely new to photography, however it's only recently that I upgraded to a dslr (I used to have an Olympus C5050z...don't worry if you've never heard of it - it was a really ancient superzoom), but I upgraded after it broke (may it rest in pieces...quite literally). I am now the proud owner of a Nikon D90 that I managed to obtain by agreeing to take some photographs for a bus company. Those 'some' photographs ended up being over 400 and I watched as my work degraded from carefully planned works of art into mere snapshots to get through the bulk...but beggars can't be choosers, right? A lesson to be remembered in future.
Anyway, I decided now's the time to become more involved with the photographic community.
I would love the opportunity to compare ideas with others and especially to receive feedback on my composition and processing as well as offer my opinion to others. Though opinions are really all we can offer, by taking praise and criticism hand in hand, I hope to improve my skills and take photography to the next level. Please feel welcome to give your honest opinion on my photographs, or to ask for some feedback for yours - I would be more than happy to! My album can be found here:

Anyway, this is too long already so I will leave you by imparting an important photography rule. The rule of thirds: Never go photographing the sunrise without drinking at least a third of your coffee...and make sure it's the good stuff

Thanks for reading and happy shooting!
