Help Please re.Adobe Photo Downloader

I've just installed Elements 8 which refuses to auto recognise camera, PC and USB card readers and wont auto launch Adobe Photo Downloader although it still still works properly with Elements 4.
I've uininstalled and re-installed E8 to no avail.

It will launch from within the software though.

I've also checked the Adobe ASite without success.

Does anyone haaaaaaaave any ideas.

Thanks
K

One possibility is that uninstall is leaving bits behind that are conflicting .Try downloading revo uninstaller .It manages to get all the registry entries that other uninstallers leave behind .it's free and easy. Then try elements 8 again.

Does the windows Auto-Play box appear when you link up your card reader to the pc with your USB cable? If it does, in the list of options it is asking you to choose from, select Photoshop Elements 8 and click in the little box at the bottom that says always use this option. Should work fine then.
