I think that would work well Bob - a sort of long weekend competition

OK, I've amended the rules again, and reading them I've deleted the " Image Click-able" rule, I think that is more appropriately covered in a poll setting guide. Ian Watt created a very good one, I'll see if I can find my copy and post it here.

Please read the Proposals again, and see if its sounding more acceptable.

I did mean to comment on the request for an animated entry, I think that it would be better to create a different competition for that, with so many cameras having video now, you could use the same basic rules but I personally wouldn't be interested, no offense intended but its not of interest to me. Give it a go and see if you get much response it may be what others want too.

How about a compromise on the time frame, open it from friday AM your time to Sunday PM your time ?

Bob
Sounds reasonable to me Bob, I'll go with the flow.

Like Flake I have got a personal library of textures etc but if I need one for the comp I redo one just for that shot. Easy for me as just about anywhere you look there are crumbling old buildings and bits of rusty machinery to photograph. And that's just in my study

Thanks guys and galls, I couldn't think of any other way of sharing the Guide to the poll so a big thanks to Ian for creating it. Ian, I wonder if you would be able to add the rules ( once adopted ) to the document, then each winner can post a link when creating the Chat and entries thread for newcomers.

We have a few new names in the entries thread this week and that is great, I hope the ones that were unaware of the comp has been in the past have not been put off, I felt sorry for our friend from Canada, he had some great images but were old ones, please join us this week when the new challenge is set

Can anyone that has not read the proposed guidelines\rules please do so and see if you are OK with them, the contest belongs to everyone and we should all have our say in the way its to be run.
They are at the start of this thread just in case you have ended up here and not seen the start yet.

A big thanks to all that have commented so far, when it sounds like the debate has settled I'll post a poll to adopt them, when you see the poll please vote so that we know loads of people have read them.

Bob
