Please - no controversy over this one [bet there will be though]! My favourite from the nature section - great composition - best winner for years!! Loved the second in the b/w section too.

Me too

Thanks to all involved

I have just found out that I came 2nd in the Planet Earth category. I am speechless!!

Congratulations Polaroidsky and all winners and participants.

I, Like Polaroidsky would also be grateful if someone could possibly make some photographs at the exhibition and share them. I found it impossible to get from Helsinki to London for many reasons.

My best to each and everyone of you

Peter

A Well Deserved Winner

Delighted to see the £10,000 prize going to an Icelandic enrty - this beautiful country and its lovely inhabitants certainly deserve a break - especially after its recent "financial woes".

The winning image was indeed outstanding - it far outshone all other entries - congratulations to Bragi J. Ingibergsson - you produced not only a top quality, eye catching image - but an extremely unique one.

Regards Gil.

I wonder could you remind me again of what exactly I need to do in order to watch the video. Was it:

(a) Disable Firewall?
(b) Disable Anti Virus?
(c) Disable Internet Security application all together?
(d) Disable 'add blocker' in IE8?
(e) All of the above?

For the life of me I cannot get this video to play. I get as far as the video screen (with image - presumably the winner), but when I press the play button the screen turns black whilst at the centre is a white rotating circle which is presumably indication that the video is loading. No matter how long I wait, neither how many cups of coffee I drink, the video doesn't load/play.

Since the beginning there have been countless posts regarding the playing of videos on this site so isn't it about time don't you think that the PR team accepts that the problem lies at their end? There was no problem with the old DCM site and nothing has changed system wise at my end (as I feel sure it hasn't for many) and from that you can draw your own conclusions.

Hi Forseti,

Sorry you are still having these problems.

The videos do work for the vast majority of our users - we're still looking into why a small minority can't watch them, working our way through all the operating system/browser combinations is taking time though.
