Battery chargers

Can anyone recommend a charger for AA batteries which treats each battery individually and can do an odd number of batteries? I quite often use 5 AAs in my flash and when they die my charger wants me to charge in pairs or 4s (it refuses to do anything with only one cell in it).

I try to swap the batteries round, but I think I've got one which isn't as well charged as the others and looses its charge first. So I want something I can put 1,2,3,or 4 batteries in and each one will get exactly the amount of charge it needs.

Hope that makes sense...

Paul

I've been using the expensive Ansmann chargers, but after both failed and recieved no response to my emails from Ansmann I bought the following at Maplins.

I've been running this charger on a daily basis for several months now and must say I'm extremely pleased with it, charges from 1-4 in less than 30minutes. Some of my older batteries would not charge using this charger, but all my newer ones do without problem.
