I tend to agree with Bob that first to post is a sensible and above all completely clear way of dealing with a tie, and as for tacking a poll onto the end of the entries thread and renaming it that is a definite yes from me if it can be done.

Especially as you can't start a thread with a poll in and you have to add one afterwards, but as even the creator of a thread doesn't seem to be able to edit it, I can't see this is possible.

To be honest we have already had one joint win since we restarted here and I saw it as quite beneficial to share the task of subject setting and spare me the onjerous task of setting up another poll so soon after my previous failure. I`m quite hjapy to run with joint winners but will gop along with the majority. The only thing I wonder about is as you discuss the placing of polls / chat threads.I wonder if a possible solution is to allow the poll thread to turn into the chat thread when it is issued. This would mean then that the poll thread would usually be the one showing on the thread list rather than the chat one. Might encourage others to vote whilst looking in. Chat may have to be general rather than comments on images affecting voting but might work.

It really is a shame that not more people vote. I see more votes in the little competitions in the small flickr groups.

I think this is a good idea - Voters may like to say why they placed their vote ?(adding to critique) - I just love the humour in Bob's picture this week - And I am not sure that comments would influence voting as such as generaly it is down to personal taste, likes and dislikes.

When I was lucky enough to tie on the old site we used that rule, but its what everyone wants to use that counts, if a shared win is prefered then I think we should go by majority preference, I'm easy ( but don't spread that last bit around)

Well done to chris-p and Bob for the joint win - great shots.Liked the reflection on chris`s - a little dark on my screen or it would have got my vote probably but then dark suited the mood. Bob`s - great opportunist use of a nice action shot with great expression.
Above and below review:
Del - not sure how you put this bright and colourful thing together and I did not know the track. tried to look in close but the blown up version showed a touch out of focus to me. Nice idea though.

sarasocke- was not sure about the lighting on this one - too much of the floor tiles showing through for me but liked the star! That little bit of lens flare is a little off putting - would have looked good if you could have used it a bit more intentionally from the star angle.

Some nice shots this week and I know I had fun. Didn`t get time to do my first idea of One man`s ceiling is another man`s floor which would have been a cloned image of me up there.I also balked at paying £4.99 for Black magic chocolates where I was going to change the best by date to show it was - That Old Black magic. Don`t like dark chocolate you see.
Other favourites for me were Lisa`s - although I could not see the dreaming in the title - just a great shot , loved the bokeh in angi`s seagull ( been getting seagull shots myself lately), and Matt`s, ogga`s and H`s were all nice clean well thought out images. Great line up all in all this week - just need more interest in voting next week beyond participants.
Thanks for those that voted for mine - I now know how to use rear slow flash after trying that out this week.

I've just realised that I've voted for myself which was not my intention (thanks to H for pointing it out!)

This weeks result should actually be a tie between Bob & Paul (I meant to vote for the Tumbling Dice!)

My apologies to everyone who entered as this has completely ruined the voting system!

Delamanda - Opera Fanatica - Arena I enjoy the intellect and thoughtful process in cleverly drawing the image into a circle; nicely presented.

Chris-p - Cocaine - Various To my mind, an image that is perhaps better suited to display in a private collection (as long as it's not mine) than a public space; Hence I refrain from comment other than to say, I noticed and followed my children's impulses, cheerfully voting upon Bob's humorous capture.

And thank you for the vote Howard.

Cheers Chris - so it's a tie between the jinky man and Bob. Given the laiser faire approach we have decided to adopt I guess you two will have to get your heads together and decide upon a topic for next week.

I will only say Bob that you ought to get jinky to do the poll; he needs the practice

Back in an hour or so for the up and down reviews.

That`s very honest of you Chris - fair play. Bob will be wondering why Thierry Henry couldn`t paly the same way! I feel I am on a run like Newcastle Utd in the championship at the moment now. However with a paper thin squad of limted talent and my being bereft of new ideas I fear both will go through a fallow period soon.

I`ll PM you with any ideas Bob. With Ian`s instructions I am sure I could manage a poll now but will happily defer to you to give you the experience
