I wonder if anyone will give Dark field photography a go for this, as it's the best way to avoid reflections in the subject.

Had to do a really quick shoot and edit as this weekend is very busy for me and tomorrow is a complete no-no. I'm still trying to get this set-up just so; this is better than version one I think, but I hope to do better when I have more time.

It was my intention to have a go at some dark field stuff but it's tricky without a flash gun and a proper background. I've ended up using my monitor and a torch and I don't think it's worked out too bad but it's not a patch on H's lightbulb!

With little time to dedicate to editing this weekend, I ended up settling for one that maximised the in camera difference in DOF with the same oil painting seen outside and through the glass (remembering an old song about chandeliers by Kenny Rogers).

Another rushed entry from me too, I'm almost finished the DIY so normality will be returned the Smith household soon. Some very good stuff entered, well done all.

And another one from me grabbed in my weekend away when I was able to close the curtains and use the lights / I`d lugged with me just to try some low light stuff and portraits. In the end the drink took over and I only used the lights for some of these efforts with on camera flash for every portrait I took! Ah well ... c`est la vie.
I tried soem white out ones using the shower at our holiday cabin but it just was not up to the quality of my bath / toilet seat lid!

Uploaded in record time this week! I wasn't allowed near Sir's coveted whisky tumblers (the only decent glasses in the house) and so went for mirror and window glass.

Going slightly off topic here, I have a bit of a favour to ask. I'm a real newbie to photography (although making up in enthusiasm what I lack elsewhere) and I've been doing a 10 week course. For our assessment we have to submit a 10 image 'panel'. I've put my shortlist on Flickr as a set entitled "ECA?" - the link is: http://www.flickr.com/photos/delaman...7622758414837/

I have really appreciated the comments received as part of this comp and so if any of you would care to make a comment about whether to include an image, ditch it or improve it, I would be most grateful. It is a beginner's course, so please don't expect too much!

Many thanks
Del
