I was going to go to the D700 to, till I started shooting sport in poor light, you should see what the D3s can do, its amazing, but very expensive. I'm trying to tell myself I'll be able to shoot 200mm macro hand held, who needs image stabilisation when you can shoot at 1/5000 sec . Oh I do hope there is a Santa

Wouldn`t the D700 cope with that kind of sports shooting?

I did think it would jinky, but looking at pixel peeper I'm not so impressed by the quality at the top end of the ISO range, saying that, I am very critical

I could buy 2 D700s for the price of the D3s so its a BIIIIIIG jump.

spell check wanted me to change your name to "Kinky"

Kinky eh - I can see me and H getting new nicknames when we step out of line

I suppose it`s partly with the number of MPs too. I don`t think I can aspire to anything higher than the D700 unless a lottery win comes in, unless a D700s comes in the new year
Just seems such a lot to spend on a body when I need better lenses too. Where does it all end! I am a bit nervous that the D700 will show up the inadequacies of lenses I have so will have to do some checks in old jacobs when i finally decide to go for it.

I don't think it ever ends jinky, I just pre booked the D3s at Calumet, I think it will be the last camera I buy for a long time. I almost went for the D700 which althogh expensive is afordable, the D3s will stop me buying any more kit for quite a while.
