Hi

Just wanted to say hi. I joined a couple of months ago and have uploaded some pics for the first time today. The site seems OK with plenty of info etc.

It's such a shame that people are not looking or commenting on other peoples pitures. Had a quick look over the forum threads and it seems there is an issue with copyright and Future using our pics? Has this been resolved? Even so, I wonder why people are not posting comments? I have spent a few minutes looking over some of the pictures and have posted some comments as there is some really good work out there.

One thing I did find a bit strange (could just be me though) is that people are uploading their pics on the forum. Isn't that what the gallery is for? Or are people doing this to get comments? I had a look at another photography forum/site and pictures only went in the gallery, not the forum.

Simon

Just noticed, how come my thread says I'm a junior member? How do I change this? I have looked and can't see where to change it.

Hi Simon, welcome to the forums

A lot of people are using Flickr for their shots as they find it easier to upload, easier to link and, if they have any concerns over copyright, it gets round that too.
There was a lot of talk when the site was in beta stage that the galleries were too slow, or didn't work properly etc which is a shame for a photography forum.

That aside, the people here are generally pretty decent so stick around!

Oh, and the junior member thing is to do with number of posts. When you hit 30 or 40 (I can't remember which) you get "member" and at 100 you get "senior member"
