White on White

Hi All

A friend of mine, suggested I try some white on white shots, to play a round with white balance and exposure. Please let me know what you think, I played around a bit trying to be creative in a "fine art" sort of way.

My feeling is that there's too much shadow , I don't know how you lit it but have you tried it with more fill flash .

By the way when you're working with reflective surfaces be careful of what is reflected in them , I'm thinking more of the spoon in the final image but it does occur in the cup and saucer too .

These might work best in a light tent.

Hi Mark & Ian

Thank you for your critique, I thought that the shadow and reflections would be a bit of a sore thumb... Will be looking to invest in a light tent in the near future. Other than those two items do you have any other comments on the composition?

Without seeing some other compositions it's difficult to know what would work better but may be a bit more space around the cup might work , no magic answer from me I'm afraid but I try to do as many different compositions and settings as pos to see which one I prefer .

Thanks Mark, I'll give it another try and see what I can put together.
